I’m Chiquita, and my fiancé Shaheed and I are the heart behind this small but delightfully cheeky cookie bakery based in Cape Town.

Our story began just last year when Shaheed baked a batch of cookies for my team as a birthday treat. As with everything he bakes, they were an instant hit—so much so that my colleagues couldn’t stop raving about them. Soon, these cookies were making regular appearances at my office, and before long, my team began insisting (read: demanding) that we share them with everyone.

And so, in November 2024, Chiqee was born. Launching a cookie brand felt like a bold move, but with my background in design and marketing and Shaheed’s expertise as a self-taught baker, we dove headfirst into creating the cheekiest, gooey-est, and most flavour-packed NYC-style cookies we could imagine.

Even now, just a few months later, it’s surreal to be typing this on OUR website 🥹 Shaheed and I are big foodies, and sharing our love for indulgent treats has been a dream of ours for years.

Balancing our 9-to-5 jobs, studies, and this fun new adventure hasn’t been easy, and we’re truly grateful for your patience and support as we find our rhythm.
